One of the things I love about LJ is the ability to meet new people and see different views of people. All I ask is, no matter where you stand, support your troops. For a lot of people, this is the best thing you can do.

I am thinking about all of my military wife gals... I just realized I have so many of you now.. too many to list. And of my sister going through Basic at a time like this. And Keith, of course. He's so strong- a lot stronger than I would be in a time like this. He and his roommates (well, until tomorrow) are so prepared for anything now. Most of all, I am thinking of Dyanna (everything is going to be okay for you-- I know it. It's hard, I know.. but soon enough he'll be home to you), who's boyfriend Sean is over there right now. And my cousin-in-law who is on one of the subs.

Rumor around post is 1st Cav leaves end of April. Hopefully Keith and I will spend some time together before that. I don't have the energy to post all that has happened with that situation. I will tomorrow though =)

Sent to me by a friend....
"Goddess Bless all of the soldiers going to fight for us in Iraq. These soldiers could be someone important to anyone...a cousin, a brother, uncle, a friend, a husband, or a dad. Maybe even a sister, aunt, a wife, or a mom. Send this to everyone on your buddy list to show how much you care and how much you respect these soldiers because when some of them leave for Iraq, they aren't sure if they will be coming back"

not for the faint of heart, but amusing none the less Collapse )

Now on to keiths situation. We've been on the waiting list at Ft Hood since he enlisted. We're #1530 out of like 1800. We have a year wait. This is after 9 months! He went to get my travel arrangements made yesterday. The military won't pay for my ticket unless I fly out of SLC. So hes asking today about how much we have to pay out of pocket. Thing is... we have no money to pay it. I've exausted every avenue I can think of. Red Cross won't help us. I tried to get a loan (Keith has to try but he doesn't have ANY free time right now). No one can really help us. Keith is looking into a DITY move today. That would be nice. I could do that. We'll just have to see how it goes. I have a way to pay for it... but Im not going to mention it. But it's a good thing.

So other than that, I'll keep ya'll updated

from today, Keith has 6-8 weeks until he deploys for 6-8 months. All I can say is he will be driving a medvec.

I should know something later.
