keith started FTX this morning. He has one day set up, one day briefing, one day take down and 4 days of war simulation. Poor thing. Good thing is Medics get nice stuff in the field for the most part, AC in the barracks, hot running water. Bad things are MREs and the 6 MI road march he gets to do right before he will actually be IN the army. Can you believe he's been training for 8 months and he's still not actually IN the army? lol. When he gets back in on Tuesday after the march, they will line them up and pin the 91W pin on them. Wish I could be in TX for that. But he graduates at 7AM on Friday of next week. If all goes well, *crossing my fingers* he'll be able to take his two weeks of leave, which he is approved for, hop on a bus Friday at 12:30 and be here Sat. at 2:30. Nothing is ever for sure. No news on our orders, but Keith says that they are prob going to stay the same, they just needed to change the dates. If there is nothing there by Friday, Im supposed to call his chain of command and ask questions and see if they've heard anything. Yay for phone phobia.

So now I just have to keep myself busy for the next week. Any of you girls think this gets the hardest when you have an exact date? That and I've gotten so spoiled with Keith having a cell so I can call him every night and talk for an hour or two.

I feel like Ramiah now... constantly checking my ASK account to see if we have any news. *goes to check again* Still "no data available". Dang. Im going to take a nap now. =(

ya big dork

yeah stuff is harder when you have an exact date when you are going somewhere, when you know you are FINALLY gonna see them... etc... but i tell ya what. Once he is actually IN the army..lol... it gets easier. trust me. i didn't think i was gonna make it even half way through jasons training....which from boot camp till the day he joined the fleet was 10 months... and the time flew. looking back on it i can't even remember a lot of it, its all a blur now. good luck to ya, you're getting CLOSE!

Re: ya big dork

*lol* Miah called me about an hour ago and we laughed because this is all revenge for me laughing at her when she had to check his ASK account everyday. I need to learn to just keep my mouth shut.

Re: ya big dork

yeah well maybe thats true, but ... i am no psychic or anything but i just don't see that happening. how is she doing anyway? are they in TX yet?

Re: ya big dork

lmfao, hahaha, thanks. yep, theyre doing great. their stuff came today and theyre just settin stuff up.

I can understand the feeling of waiting to be IN the Army. I was in Training for a year before I got to my first assignment. The goood thing is once he is done.. then he is done. Unless he goes to another military school for some type of training.
That ASK is a great thing. It helped me get my second assignment.. well before it got involuntarily changed becuase of "needs of the Army".. heh. Hopefully he doesn't go to a Division so he can't deployed. In fact I am getting deployed in the next 45 - 6 days :( and I got Stop lossed so that means I am not getting out when I was supposed too. Forget it.. Make sure you have a big party for you hubbie when he graduates!!! Free beer and music for everyone.

Re: fluffy kittens

oh no!! that sucks. I was worrying about you when Keith told me ft hood was deploying. Maybe something will happen and you won't have to go.

We'll have as big of something as we can have, not knowing too many people down here. He just can't wait to get home to his son. =)

And you know, if everything goes as planned, we'll be in San Antonio for a night if you want to drive out and come to dinner with us or something. As you always note, good convo/people is hard to find. =)

Re: fluffy kittens

Let me know when you are going to be around. I might be available. Our shcedule is very erratic.
